Premium Care Medical Center is dedicated to the safety and well-being of our patients, visitors, staff, and the New Orleans community. We are taking precautions and following best practices and procedures to help keep everyone safe from the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Please be aware of the following newly revised guidelines before visiting our facility:
All visitors must wear a mask to enter into PCMC. You will be screened for the following and may not be allowed to visit or stay in the building based on the results:
- Recent international travel history
- Recent domestic travel to areas with widespread COVID-19 infection
- Contact with individuals with known COVID-19 or individuals being evaluated for COVID 19
- Cold or flu-like symptoms (fever of T >100.4 F, cough, shortness of breath)
In an effort to keep everyone safe, PCMC staff will be screening everyone who enters the clinic for fever, additional symptoms, and travel history. Whether you call us or visit a clinic, please be prepared to answer questions. If anyone displays any of these symptoms or has a positive travel history and is toxic appearing, we will likely direct the patient or visitor to a nearby Emergency room to receive further care. If anyone displays any of these symptoms or has a positive travel history and is non-toxic appearing, we will likely direct the patient to our telemedicine portal to decrease the potential for patient-to-patient transmission in shared spaces (waiting rooms) and patient-to-provider transmission.
Our telemedicine can also be used to provide routine care for older patients, or those with chronic illnesses, for the purpose of reducing their exposure to healthcare facilities. Please call our office at (504) 361-4203 to schedule a telemedicine appointment.
Please download Zoom to your computer, iPad, or smartphone to prepare for your telemedicine visit.

If one of our doctors suggests a specialist evaluation or diagnostic testing that requires a referral, we will make every effort to provide this for you as soon as possible. Some referrals require insurance preauthorization and cannot be processed immediately. Insurance guidelines prohibit us from backdating referrals. We require three business days for the processing of routine referrals.
Doctors at Premium Care Medical Center are affiliated with Ochsner Medical Center, West Jefferson Medical Center, Children Hospital of New Orleans and University Medical Center of New Orleans.
Prescriptions and refills for established patients of Premium Care Medical Center are routinely issued during our regular office hours (see above). You can make your request by calling our office at (504) 361-4203. No refills are issued during the evenings, weekends, or holidays, as the doctors may not have access to your medical records during those times. It is helpful to anticipate your refill needs to avoid an interruption in your medication therapy.
